Sanitary inspector’s house burgled in RK Puram

The house of a sanitary inspector who works with the Defence Ministry in R K Puram area of south Delhi has been burgled and Rs 15 lakh worth cash, gold and jewellery stolen by unidentified persons, police said on Monday.

Satish Mann, who works as sanitary inspector with Defence Ministry, was at a relative’s house along with his family yesterday evening when the burglars struck his house.

The incident came to light when Satish returned home. Among the items missing were four fold sets, gold biscuits weighing 100 grams, other jewellery items, some documents and Rs 1.28 lakh in cash, a police officer said. Based on a complaint, a case has been registered against unknown persons.

Police suspect the role of an insider and have questioned some of the relatives, and further
investigation is on, the officer said.
