Sandeep Dikshit admits to AAP factor in Lok Sabha elections for East Delhi

Not taking any chances, he has campaigned extensively to meet maximum voters in his constituency to win the seat for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Dikshit on Wednesday carried his campaign to Trilokpuri, Karbla Main Road, Kotla Village, Mayur Vihar, Phase-I. The senior Congress leader said that BJP candidate will pose a challenge in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Dikshit received warm welcome from his supporters who assembled in Trilok Puri. While on his way out of the locality, he was fully confident that his development work in the area will impress his voters. He covered the areas Trilokpuri Block 36 Gurudwara, Trilokpuri, DDA Janta Flat Centre Road Chilla Goan, Seeda Mohalla, Gurila Mohalla, Jatav Basti on Wednesday evening. On his campaign trail Dikshit was confident about his victory and told Millennium Post that the BJP candidate would come in second position. He also claimed that AAP has lost its charisma due to their poor performance in their 49-day government.

He said that he had connected East Delhi to Metro and rail network during his two terms and has done several other development work over the years. He said that there is no Modi and Kejriwal wave here in Delhi anymore.

The last assembly elections were a debacle for Congress. AAP won five out of the ten assembly seats that come under East Delhi parliamentary constituency. The BJP won just three assembly seats. However the Congress is aware that the accumulated number of votes for the BJP across the ten assembly constituencies was more than AAP. In the Assembly polls, BJP bagged a total of 3,62,013 votes, whereas AAP had got 3,15,262 votes. The AAP candidate from East Delhi is Raj Mohan Gandhi, while BJP is being represented by Mahesh Giri.
