Same day return journey by Air India to cost just Rs 5,000

If you are going for an interview, business trips or any other important work for a day, there is big price relief from the national carrier –Air India. According to the new cost-effective fare scheme, the Air India is providing to-and-fro ticket at lowest price of just Rs 5,000 for the same day to those travelling to short distance metro cities, while Rs 10,000 for long distance metro cities like Delhi-Mumbai. The new scheme will start from Monday (July 25) and will be valid till September 31.

According to Air India chairman Ashwani Lohani, the move has been initiated to attract young professionals, executives of multinational companies, who travel to metro cities frequently for one or two business meetings and prefer to return on the same day.

“At the time when other air carriers increase their fares as demand peaks up, the Air India would continue to provide air tickets at the declared price. We are committed to serve our passengers by providing best available services to them time to time,” he said.

“When there is a huge fare war in aviation industry, the Air India wants to beat all airlines and attract passengers through lowest fares,” the chairman said while commenting on the new fare scheme.

“The new fare scheme will prove to be very attractive for all passengers. It will prove to be a major hit among business communities as it will help in saving their hotel expenses. This scheme will attract the flyers as the fare is affordable,” Lohani said.

The Rs 5,000 fare scheme will be valid for to-and-fro travelling to short distance metro cities like Chennai-Bangalore, Chennai-Mumbai, Kolkata-Guwahati, etc. Earlier, Air India had launched ‘equal to Rajdhani fare’ scheme, which received good response.
