If the film stars Salman Khan, it ought to break box office records, right? While it is too early to state if Salman Khan's recent release Kick will emerge year's biggest grosser, it is true that the film has kicked off in a triumphant mode.
Kick which marks the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala, and stars Jaqueline Fernandez as Salman's love interest, raked in a figure of over 26 crore on opening day alone - the highest opening day figure for 2014.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ‘Despite pre-Eid period + working day, #Kick opens to PHENOMENAL numbers. Fri Rs 26.40 cr+ nett. India biz. Note:- Early estimates.’ To ensure the film kicks up a storm, it was released in over 5,000 screens in India and in 42 other countries including non-traditional markets like France, Germany, Morocco and Maldives.
