Safai Karamcharis’ interests to be protected: Sheila

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday stated that the city government is committed to safeguarding the interests of Safai Karmacharis working under the three municipal corporations.
Dikshit was speaking at a gathering in east Delhi. She further stated that they have a right to be regularised as uncertainty about the continuation of service should be removed at the earliest. Dikshit, while addressing a gathering of Safai Karmacharis, stated that the corporations must fulfill their responsibilities by providing Safai Karmcharis better service condition and job certainty.
Prominent persons present at the meeting were former union minister Sardar Buta Singh, Delhi urban development minister Arvinder Singh, MLA Naseeb Singh, former MLA Charan Singh Kandera and leader of opposition in the East Delhi Municipal Corporation Varyam Kaur.
Dikshit assured the Safai Karmacharis that her government would sympathetically consider the demands articulated by the karmcharis and would take appropriate action.
