RWAs ask CM to remove faulty water meters

A group of representatives of the Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), in a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has demanded to stop the installation of faulty water meters in the city.
“The DJB is continuously serving notices to residents with warnings to terminate their water connections. We want the DJB to stop installing these ‘faulty and useless’ water meters,” said Saurabh Gandhi, general

secretary of United Resident of Delhi, a group of the RWAs. He also revealed a termination notice sent by the DJB to Asha Ram Gupta, a resident of Model Town area.

URD members have said that these water meters, which are run by air pressure, stop at low water pressure and are costly.

“DJB pays Rs 8,500 for these water meters, whereas, there are meters are available for Rs 700 in the market,” he added.

It’s important to mention that during his early days, Kejriwal too had raised this issue and even exposed the faults in these meters.
