Even as BJP continues to deny reports of ‘bugging’ at Union minister Nitin Gadkari’s residence, the Congress is leaving no stone unturned in cornering the ruling party, forcing the house to adjourn twice during Question Hour in Parliament on Wednesday.
The opposition leaders have demanded the ruling party to come clean on the mysterious listening device, which was allegedly planted inside Gadkari’s bedroom. While some Congress leaders alleged that it was a conspiracy hatched by the BJP leaders against Gadkari, some claimed that it could be linked to some business community.
A visibly annoyed Gadkari, while talking to reporters outside the Parliament House said, ‘Whatever is being written is false and baseless. Initially it was reported in the media that bugging device was found at my Delhi residence. But later it was claimed that listening devices were found at my Mumbai residence. These reports are incorrect.’
Gadkari has repeatedly claimed that no devices were found at his residence but party insiders revealed that a sophisticated listening device was found at his Mumbai residence and that union home minister Rajnath Singh and external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had been briefed about the issue.
