RTI: Mins set clear guidelines

All ministries were on Tuesday asked to mention detailed reasons for denial of information sought by people under the RTI Act. They have also been told to cite relevant sections of the RTI Act while denying information under the law. It has been observed that different public authorities provide information to RTI applicants in different formats. The reply should contain the name, designation, official telephone number and email ID of the CPIO, said the guidelines.
