RSS holds ‘chakka jam’ in Jaipur against temple shifting

"Barring emergency services, <g data-gr-id="17">chakka</g> jam was observed at 85 locations in the city as supporters and RSS <g data-gr-id="18">sevak</g> (activists) stopped the movement of all vehicles from 9 am", a senior official of Police Commissioner office said.
"So far it is incident free as many organisations were supporting the <g data-gr-id="28">chakka</g> jam", the cop said. Office goers, however, had a tough time as they have to report to their offices at 9 to 10 am, while attendance in school was very thin as school buses avoided to run their vehicles as a precautionary measures, the official said.
The first hour of Chakka jam was a great success as people supported it, markets were remained closed and no vehicle was <g data-gr-id="31">plying</g> so far barring emergency services, Badri Narayan Choudhary, convenor of Mandi Bachao Sangarsh Samiti and senior RSS <g data-gr-id="30">funtionary</g>, told PTI here. Over one hundred <g data-gr-id="32">swayam</g> <g data-gr-id="33">sevak</g> were deployed at 85 points in <g data-gr-id="24">entire</g> state capital to hold <g data-gr-id="34">chakka</g> jam, Choudhary said, adding Chakka Jam is for two hours from 9 am to 11 am to mark the protest.
BJP government was blamed for razing 73 temples in the name of development, cleaning obstruction of roads and Jaipur Metro Rail, he said, adding it was disastrous move as the entire government was sitting <g data-gr-id="21">idle</g> watching the temples shifting and <g data-gr-id="15">razing</g>, Choudhary alleged.
VHP slams <g data-gr-id="49">raje</g> over demolition
Agitating against <g data-gr-id="52">demolition</g> of temples in Rajasthan, VHP on Thursday accused Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of being “pseudo secular” in targeting Hindu places of worship. The RSS affiliate said it took to the streets to protest razing of temples as the “last resort” and will take the agitation to a “logical end”. VHP also said it has not abandoned its “core issue” of constructing a Ram Temple in Ayodhya which is “very much on the agenda”.
