Rs.11,000 for couples married at mass functions in Haryana

Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday announced to give Rs 11,000 to each of the couples, who would tie the nuptial knot at a mass marriage function to be organized by any organization in the State. Hooda, who was addressing a mass marriage function organized by Banarasi Dass Gupta Foundation at Panchkula on Sunday, said that this token money would be State Government’s contribution to such a noble cause. The state government’s contribution of Rs 11,000 for each couple will be given only if atleast 11 couples are to be married at any mass marriage function. Hooda appreciated that 253 couples were married at the function on Sunday. Hooda said that such mass marriage functions not only minimize the cost of marriages, but also promote mutual understanding and communal harmony in the society. Hooda urged other social organizations to follow the example set by Banarasi Dass Gupta Foundation and organize mass marriages of girls belonging to poor families. While blessing the newly married couples for a happy married life, Hooda was all praise for the Banarasi Dass Gupta Foundation for organising marriages of such a large number of couples thus making it a historic event.
