Rs 9 lakh looted from tax collection point in Haryana

Cash worth Rs 9 lakh was allegedly robbed by four unidentified men from a tax collection point of Ambala taxation department on the National Highway-1 on Sunday, police said.
According to the Ambala taxation department, a sales tax inspector and a peon were present in the tax collection point at Devi Nagar village, when a group of four robbers came in a car and threatened the official at gun point to <g data-gr-id="17">handover</g> the money to them.
The culprits then fled towards Punjab side, they said.
The district taxation commissioner Randhir Singh confirmed the incident, stating that around Rs 9 lakh was looted by the assailants from the tax collection point.
A case against unidentified men has been registered, police said, adding that no arrests have been made so far.
