Rs 8 crore looted from Delhi businessman

In a daredevil act on Tuesday morning robbers struck in the Lajpat Nagar area looting Rs 8 crore from a businessman and his three associates. The assailants were armed with small arms and knives and came in two stolen vehicles. The whole operation took place within six minutes and the assailants drove off in the same car in which the victims were driving. The assailants were yet to be identified till the time of going to the press.

The businessman who was tragetted is Rakesh Kumar Kalra. ‘The CDRs of the driver and three associates accompanying Kalra were taken out to identify the possibility of their involvement,’ an official said.  The incident was reported to police at around 9.30 am when Kalra, a property dealer in Greater Kailash was going to Karol Bagh via ITO in Honda City (HR 26 AH 1422) with three associates and the driver Subodh. Mid way, when they crossed Moolchand flyover during the peek hours, a silver-coloured Maruti Wagon R (UP 14 BJ 4610) car overtook them.
