Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay has demanded a compensation of five crore rupees for farmer Gajendra Singh, who committed suicide in the rally of Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday.
“AAP government should give a compensation of Rs 5 crore to the family of the farmer,” demanded Upadhyay. He also announced a protest before the Delhi Chief Minister’s office, demanding an enquiry into the incident.
Union Health Minister J P Nadda along with South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri and Upadhayay visited the Sucheta Kriplani hospital mortuary, where the post-mortem of deceased farmer was being conducted. “Central government will conduct a proper enquiry into the matter and make all necessary efforts,” said Nadda to media persons. Upadhayay alleged that Arvind Kejriwal is a master of exploiting human sentiments. “On one hand, the Chief Minister failed in his basic duty of asking his party men present at the venue to make efforts of climbing the tree and saving the farmer. On the other, he kept on with his speech citing example of the farmer trying to hang himself.”
The leader of Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly, Vijender Gupta condemned the AAP leaders’ inhuman approach.
“The AAP leaders were engaged in live commentary of the farmer’s suicide. They should have stopped their rally and saved his life instead,” said Gupta terming the incident as the ‘historical low’ of politics in India.
