Rs 23 lakh stolen from ATM cash van in Paharganj

Around Rs 23 lakh were reported to be stolen from a cash van which had come to refill an ATM machine at Paharganj area in Delhi on Tuesday evening.
The men who were supposed to guard the van, parked outside an ATM kiosk during a refill told police that they had dispersed for a minute, when the incident took place.
According to police, the cash van was reported to have left its office with Rs 87 lakh cash on Tuesday afternoon. After refilling a few ATM machines around Central Delhi, it had finally reached a Central Bank ATM at Paharganj around 6.15 PM. There, the guards of the van went ‘somewhere’ when the theft took place, said a police officer requesting anonymity.
