Four people were arrested for two heists, including a Rs 12 lakh cash collection van robbery, committed within a week here, police said on Monday.
Mukesh Kumar, 38, Santosh Kumar, 37, Amit, 23, and Rohit Kumar, 27, were arrested on Sunday from west Delhi’s Mangolpuri area on a tip-off and the hunt is on to nab their other associates.
In the 1 November heist, the accused entered the NDPL office in central Delhi’s Desh Bandhu Gupta Road area and robbed Rs.65,000 from the cashier at gun point.
In the second case, six members of the same gang intercepted a cash collection van in Delhi’s Prasad Nagar 7 November and stole Rs 12 lakh which had been collected from a Delhi Jal Board office and a Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) office.
‘In both the incidents, an insider had given a signal to the accused,’ said a police officer.
‘While cashier Amit gave the signal to the accused in the D.B.G. Road heist, an LIC agent Rohit gave information about the cash van in the Prasad Nagar case,’ said the officer.
