Two persons, including a teenager, have been detained for allegedly robbing a man of around Rs 5.70 lakh in North-west Delhi’s Bharat Nagar area on March 18, the police said on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Deen Mohammed and the teenager, are members of a robbery gang and their accomplices are yet to be arrested. The gang is allegedly headed by one Deepak, who belongs to outer Delhi’s Burari area. On March 18, the victim was driving a Hyundai Accent car with the cash in its trunk. The accused were in a Maruti Zen car and intercepted the victim at a traffic signal near Satyawati College. On March 20, the police received a tip off that Deen Mohammed and the teenager would come in Northwest Delhi’s GT Road. A trap was laid and they were duly arrested.
