Riding team enters Limca Book of world records

A riding team from the services has entered the Limca Book of World Records by cycling a distance of 4000 kilometres from Khardung La pass in Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari on the southernmost tip of the country in just under 16 days.
‘The team accepted the challenge of undertaking a cycling expedition from the highest motorable pass in the world, Khardung La (18,380 ft) to Southern most edge of Indian Subcontinent, Kanyakumari.
‘Major Srinivas G (Army) and Squadron Leader Rohan Anand (Airforce) braved the rugged terrain and snow bound passes of ladakh and covered a distance of 4000 km in 15 Days and 22 Hours beating the previous record of 18 days and 17 hours, thereby establishing a new record in Limca Book of World Records,’ an defence spokesman said on Monday.
The K2K cycling expedition was flagged off from Khardung La on 2 September by the General Officer Commanding of Army’s 14 Corps, he said.
