Rickshaw puller has pride of place at inauguration

Rickshaw-puller Mohammad Israel Khan on Sunday inaugurated the DTC Bus Terminal at Babarpur, North-east Delhi, in the presence of Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai.
“Delhi <g data-gr-id="19">Government as well as the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC)</g> is committed to <g data-gr-id="18">provide</g> reliable and efficient bus service to its commuters. He added that more buses are being added to the DTC Fleet and there will be no scarcity of buses for Delhiites,” said Rai.
Rai further said that with the inauguration of this bus terminal, approximately five lakh residents of the area would be benefitted and they would also be able to take buses for different venues from one point. He further added that the terminal is well-equipped with facilities, toilets, drinking water, bus queue shelters and sufficient lighting arrangements would be <g data-gr-id="23">made during</g> nights for security purposes.
He also informed that the concerned officers have been directed to make all necessary arrangements for providing requisite facilities for the convenience of the commuters inside the terminals. Babarpur Terminal is a very old terminal, which is being operated from roadside since long. With the initiative of the minister for Transport, Gopal Rai, the terminal is being rebuilt with all passenger facilities and amenities. The routes include number 254, operating between Babarpur and Kamruddin Nagar with 25 buses plying within the frequency of 10 minutes; route 274 operates between Babarpur and Abul Fazal Enclave (Okhla Extension) with six buses at a frequency of 30 minutes.
Route 213A operates between Babarpur and New Delhi Railway station with three buses at a frequency of 30 minutes.
