Retired HC judge found dead

The decomposed body of a retired Delhi High Court judge has been found from his residence in Mayur Vihar area of east Delhi. The door was locked from inside, when police reached the crime scene.

According to police, the victim’s neighbours complained to police after foul smell started coming from the house. The cops had to knock the door down to enter the house. The victim  was identified as Kulvant Bhandari, 54, who hailed from Himachal Pradesh.

His decomposing body was found lying on the floor, surrounded by a lot of empty alcohol bottles. Bhandari lived alone.

The body was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital for post-mortem. ‘No injury marks have been noticed on the decomposed body. As per the initial investigation, after seeing the condition of the body, police assumes Bhandari might have died four to five days ago,’ said a police official.

He added that five suicide notes were recovered from his residence. The documents that could reveal his identity were found to be missing. Neither any mobile phone nor any I-card was found. But the neighbours identified him.
