Residents enjoy pleasant weekend, rain likely today

Rain brought down the maximum temperature to 32.4 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season’s average. The minimum temperature settled at 27.2 degrees Celsius, one degree below the normal.

According to the Meteorological department, the Safdarjung observatory, whose recordings are considered official for the city, recorded traces of rain in the last 24 hours.

Between 8.30 am and 5.30 am, the observatory recorded no rain, but weather stations at Palam and Ayanagar received 7.8 mm and 0.5 mm of rain, respectively.

Humidity levels oscillated between 72 and 87 per cent.The weather office has predicted overcast conditions along with the possibility of light rain and thundershowers for Monday.

“The sky will be generally cloudy. There is a likelihood of light rain and thunderstorm towards night tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at around 33 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively,” the weatherman said.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum had settled at 24.4 degrees Celsius.
