Register FIRs against Jung, Meena for sitting over plaints: Mishra to LG

Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra has shot off a letter to LG Najeeb Jung, in which he recommended to register an FIR against M K Meena, ACB Chief and LG Jung for sitting over the matters for more than two years.

Mishra in his letter has written that four FIRs were registered during the AAP government’s earlier 49-day stint in power but no action has been taken so far.

Mishra has also given the details of the FIRs which are pending with the ACB office. He spoke of the FIRs against Bhagirathi Water Treatment Rehab Project, non-AMR Meter Scam, AMR meters and FIR relating to the CWG streetlighting Scam.

“It is reported that while registering FIR on the issue of Water Tanker Distribution management System ,which was forwarded to you on 13 June, 2016, the ACB has also included within the same FIR the matter raised By Vijender Gupta with regard to the alleged delay in taking action in the matter,” Mishra stated in his letter.

“If any alleged delay on part of the government in referring the matter to ACB, in pursuance to any report furnished to it by a committee, is sufficient cause of action for registering FIR then by the same analogy an FIR is required to be registered against ACB chief as well as Lieutenant Governor (since ACB reports to him) for not taking action in the FIRs registered in 2014,” the minister wrote.

He said there cannot be separate laws for the citizens of a country as all are equal before law in a democracy while “strongly recommending” FIR against Jung and Meena for allegedly “sitting over” the four cases for more than two years. On Monday the Delhi Cabinet Minister Mishra was quizzed by the ACB in the Water Tanker Scam.

On June 20, the ACB registered an FIR not only against Dikshit but also against Kejriwal in connection with the tanker scam. The FIR against Kejriwal was registered on the complaint of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Vijender Gupta “for causing delay in the probe and not cancelling the contract for water tankers”.
