‘Rebel boards’ force BCCI to have emergent meet on Sunday

It may not be to embattled BCCI chief N.Srinivasan’s liking, but notices have been sent on Thursday to state associations to have an emergent working committee meet on Sunday afternoon in Mumbai.

A top BCCI official confirms that last night itself Interim President Shivlal Yadav had instructed the Secretary Sanjay Patel to convene such an emergent meet on Sunday. By having it on Sunday, the meeting holds significance as it would be in time before the BCCI files its reply to Supreme court, 24 hours before the hearing on 22nd. If the anti Srinivasan camp has its way in the meet, it’s stance in court may not have the blessings of Srinivasan.

All this is following Rajasthan Cricket Association’s letter to BCCI asking the board to meet and discuss with the members before it files a reply to the Court. The country’s Apex court has sought a reply from the BCCI as to how it plans to investigate allegations against 13 people (players and administrators) including displaced BCCI President N Srinivasan, a list compiled by court appointed investigator Justice Mudgal.
