Spanish football club Real Madrid is expected to confirm the signing of Colombian international James Rodriguez later on Tuesday. James, who will cost around 80 million euros from Monaco, will become the third most expensive signing in the club’s history after Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
His arrival follows that of German international Toni Kroos, whose arrival at the European champions was confirmed last week. James is another flagship signing for Real Madrid after he won the ‘Golden Boot’ as the top scorer in the recent FIFA World Cup held in Brazil. He netted six times, despite Colombia being knocked out of the competition in the quarter-finals and his goal in the round of 16 against Uruguay was selected as the best goal of the tournament.
