A 40-year-old real estate agent was shot at under ‘mysterious circumstances’ near Zafrabad area of north-east Delhi, on Monday.
The victim, Md Aslam suddenly saw blood oozing out from his thigh and before he could realise that he had been shot at, he fell down. According to a police official, a PCR call was received at around
5:30 pm and the caller informed about a man lying unconscious at the Brahmapuri market area in Zafrabad.
Police rushed to the spot immediately and found Aslam lying on the road with a bullet injury near his hip. Aslam was rushed to the Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where he is currently stated to be out of danger, said a police official.
‘Aslam had no idea about who shot him and when he was shot at. He told the police that he only realised that he was injured after he noticed blood oozing out from his thigh, when he was heading towards his home,’ added a police official.
He further said that a nearby shopkeeper had called the police after he saw Aslam collapse on the road after he was shot at. The bullet seems to be shot from a country made pistol, however, the police are still clueless, said an official.
He further added that CCTV footages available from a nearby building are being monitored and shopkeepers in the market are being interrogated regarding the case.
‘A case has been registered under appropriate sections of the IPC against unidentified assailants at the Zafrabad police station,’ said a source.
