Ready to tackle any emergency: Rawat

Uttarakhand Chief <g data-gr-id="21">Minsiter</g> Harish Rawat has said that his government is ready to face any kind of emergency, after the devastating flash floods in 2013. He added that 50 helipads have been built in the state to deal with exigencies.
“We are ready to tackle any grave situation, even like that of 2013. Automatic weather stations have already been set up at four places. Under emergency communication facilities, DSPT phone service has been installed at Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts. Land has also been allotted at Almora and Surkanda to install Doppler radar.”
He added that nearly 5 lakh tourists have already visited pilgrim spots – Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamnotri and Hemkund Sahib – so far, this year. He added: “We have rehabilitated nearly 2,500 homeless families in the last two years."
