Ratish Kumar appointed as Dir (Projects) NHPC

Ratish Kumar has been appointed as Director (Projects), NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower utility and a Schedule ‘A’ enterprise of the Union government on Wednesday. Prior to his appointment as Director (Projects), he held the position of Executive Director, Design (E&M), NHPC.
Born on 8th December, 1960, Ratish Kumar holds a degree in electrical engineering from G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Uttarakhand. He joined NHPC in October 1982 as a Trainee Engineer. During his tenure in NHPC, he scaled heights and contributed to NHPC’s development by serving in various capacities, especially in the area of Design (E&M). His major contributions include design and engineering of E&M packages of many projects namely Teesta-V H.E.P(510 mw), Sewa-II(120 mw), Chamera-III (231 mw), Dhauliganga H.E. Project (280 mw) etc.
He was also associated with various international consultancy assignments including preparation of DPR of Tamanthi (1200 mw) & Shwezaye (642 mw) in Myanmar.
