Rape accused husband apprehended by cops

Nearly 20 days after a Mumbai-based woman filed an FIR against her husband and his friends alleging gang rape, the police on Friday arrested the accused from Dadri.
Sanjeev Srivastav was at large since the FIR was registered. The four other accused are still absconding and police are searching for them.
Brijesh Kumar, SP rural informed that Sanjeev has been booked under various sections of IPC including 324, 376B, 504, 506 and has been sent to Dasna jail. He added that the search for the rest of the accused is on and they would be apprehended soon.
The woman had met her <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">husband Sanjeev Srivastava, a Noida-based software engineer, on 15 May through a social networking website. The man reportedly wooed the woman and asked her to come down to Greater Noida on the pretext of marriage. A week later, she landed here with jewellery and cash worth Rs 18 lakh and the two tied the knot at a local temple.
However, being a Christian, she asked <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">Srivastava for a registered marriage which he refused. The woman alleged that three days later, he called four of his friends to their house and all five raped the woman together.
Since then the woman has been reportedly running from pillar to post to get her case registered.
She was so devastated by <span style="border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important">the Surajpur police’s laxity that she had announced fast unto death from Monday in front of Gautam Budh Nagar SSP Pritinder Singh.
