The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday alleged that the Centre and Delhi administration were protecting officials, including the Chief Secretary, who were guilty of ordering illegal and targeted demolitions at Vasant Kunj’s Rangpuri Pahari here.
“Delhi administration’s silence cannot hide its illegal action and it will have to answer why the demolitions were carried out despite an advisory from the union poverty alleviation ministry based on a Supreme Court directive that such drives should not be carried out during winters. Why did the BJP’s central government, which is ruling Delhi through back door allow such a move”, said AAP in a press release.
On November 25, the settlement, Israeli Camp in Rangpuri Pahari area of south Delhi near Vasant Kunj, was reduced to rubble in a demolition done by the state’s forest department.
