From modelling to acting, how has the shift been?
It’s a huge shift, a totally different life experience now. It has been interesting so far, but it is bit hard to adjust at times.
Were there any apprehensions before facing the camera for Rockstar?
No apprehensions and definitely no intimidation, which I am grateful for. I enjoyed the process and did the best I could for my role.
Are you now going to continue in Bollywood or go back to modelling?
I don’t think one can ever go back to modeling after acting in films. I find acting more exciting and much more fulfilling at the moment.
How was the experience of playing a journalist in Madras Cafe? What preparations did you take for the role?
I really enjoyed my next role as a journalist. I did a lot of research on the subject and watched journalists, while they were on the field reporting. It was pretty intense. You never realize what goes into a profession until you do it yourself or take time out to research.
Ranbir in Rockstar or John in Madras Cafe. Who is the better co-star?
They are two very different people. Both of them are lovely. I really enjoyed working with John in Madras Cafe.
Many actresses say they would never date an actor, but secretly do. Are you averse to dating an actor?
I always said i would never date a model or an actor, because their lives are usually very unstable. Stability and security are important. But if the universe sends me a great man, then I will take him no matter what his occupation is.
Any dream role you wish to be a part of?
Oh yes! Action and comedy are two genres I would like to do and explore.
What is the best and the worst aspect of Bollywood?
The best is the travel, financial freedom you get and the art itself. The worst part would be hectic schedule and fake people along with constant scrutiny.
