Ram Jethmalani may lose Rajya Sabha membership

Veteran Lawyer and Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) MP, Ram Jethmalani's Rajya Sabha membership could be cancelled according to BJP leaders. Jethmalani's antics have embarrassed the party quite often and this time the veteran lawyer refused to align with the party's whip. The BJP had issued a whip that members need to vote on a government enterprise committee however, the BJP MP did not cast his vote. According to BJP leaders, the party may now approach the Rajya Sabha secretariat to cancel the veteran lawyer’s membership.

Recently Jethmalani had barged into BJP's parliamentary meeting, where he accused the party leadership of being soft in targeting the government over corruption. Jethmalani has been suspended from BJP last November over his open letter to former BJP president Niting Gadkari , taking a stand against the party on the appointment of the new CBI chief.
