Union Home minister Rajnath Singh has reportedly sent back few crucial files in the last few weeks for ‘correction’ which lacks the ‘Satyamev Jayate’ (truth alone triumphs) imprint on it in Devanagari script in the government seal and also asked all the government departments to adhere to the instruction or else all files lacking the important features will be termed as ‘invalid’.
In a recently-held meeting over the preparedness of Independence Day, Singh has expressed annoyance over the insensitivity of the previous government in not taking up the matter seriously when it comes to the usage of government seals in most of the departments, which lacks ‘Satyamev Jayate’ imprint or carve on it.
He also became angry when he found that in his own departments a section of such government seal lacks the important feature of ‘Satyamev Jayate’.
Later, he issued a circular in this regard to all the government departments and ordered to bring back all the files, which was released with ‘invalid government stamp’. MHA sources said signature on those files without ‘Satyamev Jayate’ logo on government stamps will not be valid as per instruction by the minister himself from August, 2014, onwards.
It was learnt that those who will be found guilty will be punished under violation of the State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act, 2005 and the State Emblem of India (Regulation of Use) Rules, 2007 respectively.
