Raje seeks Rs 100 cr for constructing 134 model schools

Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje on Friday sought Rs 102.85 crore from the Centre for the construction of 134 model schools in the state which remains incomplete for want of funds.
Raje met HRD Minister Smriti Irani, seeking funds for the "half-done projects", a government statement said.
"Raje requested Irani to release Rs 102.85 crore for the construction of 134 model schools in the state as it remained unpaid out of a centrally-sponsored scheme (CSS) sanctioned in 2011-12. <g data-gr-id="16">Initial</g> allocation for this scheme was Rs 404.68 crore, of which Rs 301.85 crore was received. The model school scheme was later removed from the list of CSS and setting-up of <g data-gr-id="14">these school</g> was handed over to the state government," it said.
