Railway officials mull plan for better services

A conference of senior divisional operations managers of Delhi, Lucknow, Firozpur and Ambala divisions of Northern Railway was held at Northern Railway Headquarters Office, Baroda House in New Delhi on Friday.
The conference was chaired by the Chief Operations Manager of Northern Railway under the aegis of General Manager, Northern Railway. Principal heads of all departments also attended the conference.
They deliberated upon freight operations, expeditious completion of traffic facility enhancement works, doubling works, safety preparedness for the ensuing foggy weather and so on. Special concerns such as carriage and works examinations, judicious power utilisation, simplification of station working rules, human resources utilisation and effective man power planning were also discussed at length.
Action plans for enhancement of revenue loading, planning of special trains and augmentation of passenger carrying capacity were also deliberated upon.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager, Northern Railway V K Gupta exhorted officials to focus on certain thrust areas like passenger amenities works, safety and judicious planning of train operations for boosting operational efficiency of the Railway.
