Rahul will be on a two day visit to his constituency from Friday next and will inaugurate a FM radio station and lay the foundation stone of a water bottling plant of Indian Railways. He will also be inaugurating seven branches of State Bank of India (SBI) on that day.
The Congress vice-president, will be accompanied by sister Priyanka Vadra, who has been active in the party for the past couple of days. The visit is seen as an attempt to build confidence among the people when AAP is attempting to steal the thunder under the feet of Congress.
On the next day Rahulwill meet the party leaders to discuss upon the strategy for the coming Lok Sabha. Gram pradha, block pramukhs and many Shiksha Mitras have been invited to attend the meeting. He is also likely to attend the meeting of the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee.
Earlier, Gandhi was slated to visit Amethi on 12 January but had to prepone it as AAP is scheduled to hold the Jan Viswas rally on the same day.
AAP leader Kumar Viswas has already announced to contest the coming Lok Sabha against Gandhi from Amethi. On Tuesday AAP national spokesman Sanjay Singh held a rally in Amethi and announced that Kumar Vishwas would contest from there. The rally was well attended as many local advocates, teachers, retired government doctors and engineers joined AAP.
