Rahul Gandhi will walk the talk in Chhattisgarh

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is all set to launch his first political campaign, post election, in Chhattisgarh from 30 January. According to well-placed sources, the week-long padyatra would begin from Kanker and end at Raipur after covering 140 kilometres. BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh goes to polls in December this year.

Out of the nine assembly polls this year, Congress would be in direct contest with the BJP in five – Delhi, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh. The other four are in the smaller states of North-East. Rahul Gandhi’s leadership skills would be on test during these polls.

Interacting with the party’s student and youth leaders during a meeting on Friday morning at Jawahar Bhawan, Gandhi shared his plans of the upcoming padyatra in all these states. The Chhattisgarh padyatra would be led by NSUI president Rohit Choudhari.
