Radhika Khera is Cong’s new face of social media campaign

After humiliating defeats in both Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, Delhi Congress is set to launch its digital war room to counter AAP and BJP in the social media space. Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely on Thursday appointed Radhika Khera as chairperson of the social media cell. ‘Kheda is a devoted Congress worker, who had been associated with Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee’s social media work for quite some time, now,’ he said.

In the last Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, the city Congress unit, which had failed to put its point across to the electorate through social media networks, has decided to devise a comprehensive strategy to counter its rivals in the eventuality of fresh Assembly polls.

Sources said that Lovely held a meeting with technical experts to explore all social media platforms where the party could put its point of view across to the electorate and effectively counter the charges leveled against it by its rivals. Confirming that the party was all set to launch an aggressive social media campaign, party’s chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said: ‘The new age digital war room would be equipped with the latest technology available in the market.’

Kheda added that the technical team would be starting two Facebook  accounts, one for the party and other for Lovely in the next two days. ‘The FB pages will be immediately followed by Twitter accounts.’

Kheda said the party would be putting up a telephone number on Whatsaap application as well.
‘Anyone who will give a missed call on this designated number will get automatically added to the application.’

Lovely said the digital war room would also be launching a YouTube channel through which we would be regularly uploading our videos.

‘We have done the video recording of our entire agitation on power and water crisis. These videos will also be uploaded on the channel so that the people know which party has been taking up their real issues.’
