The public works department has claimed that the work of de-silting all drains in the PWD area was completed on 15 June and therefore there will be no water logging problem on the roads in these areas. Nearly 900 roads covering around 1,256 km are managed by PWD.
The civic agency officials claimed that the work on removing the sludge taken out from these drains was on and would be completed in the next two-three days.
Although de-silting is a regular process the process is intensified ahead of the monsoons to prevent waterlogging of roads.
The agency has also come up with a Monsoon Control Room at its head-quarters in IP Estate. Complaints can be registered on 1800-11-00-93 at the control room.
