Punish Sharma if guilty, says wife; rules out brother’s role

Denying the involvement of her brother Videsh Kumar in the incident, Savita said the police are trying to frame him to shelter the main murder accused of the man who was found charred to death in Sharma’s car. She also said that she would write a letter to prime minister Narendra Modi in this regard. Meanwhile, Sharma was taken in police custody on Friday.

Savita, in her statement, has raised questions over the ongoing investigation and has said that they are trying to shield the girlfriend of her husband who has a very big role to play in the entire conspiracy. She claimed that her brother is not involved in the murder and it is Chandra Mohan and his girlfriend who had hatched the conspiracy with the motive to live together.

‘The plan to set the car on fire could have been hatched by more than two people and the police must unearth the truth. Allegations on my brother are totally baseless. He is not involved in the conspiracy. The  police are intentionally framing charges on him. It is absolutely false that Videsh along with Sharma set the car on fire after putting the body of the mentally challenged person in it,’ said Savita.
On the other hand, Videsh on Thursday night claimed that he was innocent and has been framed by Chandra Mohan Sharma with ulterior motives.

Meanwhile, police investigations say that Sharma, after commiting the crime, had fled to Bangalore where he joined a company with a very low salary. One month later, he returned to Greater Noida and met his girlfriend. They both later went to Bangalore to live together. Police also informed that they produced Sharma before the court from where he was taken into police custody for two days. It has also come to light that raids are being conducted to arrest Videsh as the RTI activist has accepted his involvement in the murder conspiracy.

‘We had requested the court to provide five days’ custody but were allowed only two days. Now, we will unearth the case and will try to know more about the man who was killed by Chandra Mohan and put inside the car,’ said a senior police official.
