PSPCL's plant awarded for outstanding performance

In yet another feather to its cap, a Punjab State Power Corporation Limited's thermal plant has been awarded by CEA for outstanding performance. The award was given by Power Minister Piyush Goyal to KD Chaudhri, CMD PSPCL.
"PSPCL’s thermal Plant at Lehra <g data-gr-id="20">Mohabat</g> has been awarded by Central Electricity Authority under <g data-gr-id="17">category</g> of Performance of Thermal Power Stations,” <g data-gr-id="22">Chaudhri</g> said.
He described it as a proud moment for the people of Punjab that Guru Hargobind Thermal Power (GHTP) station was selected for the award for its excellent performance in the year 2013-14. "The plant generated 66,650 Lakh Units during FY 2013-14, its heat rate remained very low at 2,396 Kcal/KWh against <g data-gr-id="23">PSERC</g> target of 2500 Kcal/KWh," a company official said.
The CMD was given the award here in the presence of PK Pujari, Union Secretary Power, Major Singh, Chairperson CEA, Davinder Chaudhary, Special Secretary Power, RN Chaubey, Special Secretary Power and Jyoti Arora, Joint Secretary Power.
"The plants auxiliary consumption remained 8.21% against target of 8.50%, oil consumption remained 0.32ml/KWh against 1.0ml/KWh and DM water make up for all four units remained at its lowest ever value of 0.56%, thus saving crores of rupees to the nation," he added.
During 2013-14 unit 1 & 4 of plant ran continuously for 103.51 days & 123.47 days respectively. "The annual maintenance of unit 4 was completed in 14.69 days against approved shut down of 20 days bringing additional 318LU at <g data-gr-id="25">bar</g>," <g data-gr-id="29">Chaudhri</g> said.
