Property tax offices to remain open on Saturdays: SDMC

Property tax offices of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will remain open on Saturdays also to allow people to pay their taxes with rebate during the financial Year 2014-15.
“All the Zonal Offices and Headquarter of the Property Tax Department of the SDMC will remain open on Saturdays also. These dates are February 21 and February 28 as well as March 7, 21 and March 28,” the SDMC on Tuesday said in a statement. The timings of the office will remain as per regular working days.
Accordingly, all property owners/taxpayers are advised to avail the above opportunity and positively deposit the self assessment/lump-sum payment of property tax during the above days, it said.
“Failure to do so will attract usual interest for the delayed payment as per provisions of Delhi Municipal Corporation Act and bye-laws framed thereunder. They would also face penalty and punishment thereafter 31st March,” it said.
