Property dealer stabbed to death by 2 in Lajpat Nagar

A 39-year-old property dealer was allegedly stabbed to death by two unidentified men at a paan shop near his house in South-east Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area on late Friday night. Investigators said that in the preliminary investigation, it appears that the motive of the murder is personal rivalry. On the other hand, family members of the victim alleged that he was attacked twice in the recent past. Police said that two to three teams have been formed to investigate the matter.
According to the police, the incident took place at around 10.30 pm when Manish Chabbra had gone to the nearby paan shop to smoke cigarettes when two masked men came and stabbed him. After stabbing him multiple times in the chest and abdomen, the accused fled the spot. Police added
that the murder created chaos in the area as the incident took place in a crowded area.
Police said that it was the locals present at the scene who informed the police after which Manish was rushed by the local police to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. His body has been sent for post-mortem and will be handed over to his family.
Meanwhile family members of Manish alleged that he had been attacked twice in the past and they had informed the police about the same. However, the police did nothing to ensure Manish’s safety, added the police.
Senior police officers said that they have registered a case of murder under relevant sections of the IPC at the Lajpat Nagar police station against unknown persons.
Police are scanning through the CCTV footage of the nearby shops and houses to establish the identity of the culprits. They are also questioning his family and friends to know |with whom he had some fight with in the recent past.
