‘Prohibition of alcohol no solution’

Joint Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon, Anil Kumar Rao spoke on the role of youth in crime prevention and law enforcement during a lecture series at Ansal University on Monday.
Anil Kumar Rao, a topper of Haryana Police Services, joined the Indian Police Services in 1988 has many medals and laurels to his credit. He has served in various capacities and held more than a dozen positions at various places.
He spoke about relevant issues such as corruption, the role played by media in highlighting crime and forming people’s perceptions, safety of women, and road-rage. He also spoke about the issue of drunken driving. He was of the view that prohibition of alcohol was not the solution.
He also answered the queries of the students and spoke in detail about the key role that today’s youth can play in law enforcement and prevention of crime in our society.
‘It was an enlightening session that acted as an eye-opener for many and will be remembered by one and all for a long time to come,’ an official from Ansal University said.
