The report of the high-level internal committee formed by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Administration was intentionally leaked to the media to influence the bail petition of Anirban Bhattacharya and Umar Khalid alleges the JNU students’ body.
Alleging the University administration of playing a partisan role against the students, Rama Naga JNUSU office bearer said: “The leak of internal investigation panel’s report was planned and intended to influence the decision over the bail petition.”
“When the students who were noticed and not given any investigation report, how were several media able to extract the report? I question the timing of the leaked report?” Naga questioned.
Earlier, Naga had said: “I will not file any reply as the probe panel was not above the suspicion and it was meant for punishing all the students.”
Another All India Students Association member said: “University administration is running like agents of the Bharatiya Janata Party government.”
