Private security agencies asked to register online

In a bid to tighten the noose on private security agencies in the national capital, the city administration has made it mandatory for all such agencies to furnish on-line informations with regard to deployment of security personnel.
Such measures have been taken after it was found that various agencies have closed down their businesses without proper intimation to the concerned department. ‘We have also found that some of the security agencies have unauthorisedly given their licenses to other people to operate,’ said GP Singh, Additional Secretary (Home).
The officer added that many such agencies are running their business without taking license from the city administration.
‘We have received many complaints regarding this,’ said Singh.
The security agencies have to disclose all the details of their supervisors and security guards and working hours along with numbers of firearms owned. The home department has asked all the private security agencies having valid license to furnish line information to it by 21 July.
Singh further added that if they fail to share information their license could be canceled. License to around 504 private security agencies has been issued so far in the national capital.
