Prime accused in nun gang-rape case arrested

A CID team arrested two prime accused in the gang-rape of a septuagenarian nun at Ranaghat in Nadia district from Sealdah station, a senior official of the investigating agency said on Friday.
“We have arrested Milan Kumar Sarkar and Wahidul Islam from Sealdah station (Main) last night,” the official said. He added, “Both are Bangladeshi nationals and don’t have a valid passport or document.” They duo was produced before a Ranaghat court, which remanded them to 14 days’ police custody.
The Sister Superior of Jesus and Mary’s Convent School was gangraped by dacoits at Ranaghat in Nadia district on March 14.
