The body of the main accused in the double murder at the CISF campus in Indirapuram was found hanging in a police station station in Ghaziabad on Sunday morning.
According to the police, Vineet Sharma who was nabbed by the cops on Saturday evening, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ventilator of the wash room with the blanket that had been given to him. The police constable on duty recovered the body at around 6.30 am on Sunday.
'When he was not found in the lock up, the constable went to search him in the washroom where his body was found hanging,' said a senior police officer at Indirapuram police station.
Vineet was the deceased CISF constable Suresh’s brother-in-law, his wife's sister's husban. Suresh’s body was discovered, along with that of his wife, on Wednesday from the staff quarter of the CISF. In his statement to the police, Vineet had confessed to killing the couple and also mentioned the involvement of his four friends. The motive of the murder was robbery. Suresh and his wife apparently owned a substantial amount of gold and money. The couple didn’t have any children. The police is yet to recover the four stolen rings, but have arrested one more person, Narendra, in connection with the crime. 'We are investigating the matter and appropriate action will be taken,' said S S Yadav, SP City of Ghaziabad.
