Prime accused in Mathura violence arrested

Bose, said to be the second in-command of Ram Vriksh Yadav, was arrested in the morning along with his wife from Caithwalia village, Superintendent of Police Kripa Shankar Singh said. The police officer said both of them would be sent to Mathura.

Yadav, the alleged leader of the Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrahi, which was said to be behind the violence, had died in the clashes with police.

Additional Director General (law and order) of UP Police Daljeet Singh had earlier said that Yadav, Bose, Girish Yadav and Rakesh Gupta were the main culprits in the case.

Twenty-nine people, including then SP (City) Mukul Dwivedi and SHO Santosh Yadav, were killed during clashes between police and encroachers at Jawahar Bagh in Mathura on June 2.
