Price rise major factor behind defeat in Bihar election: BJP MP

In an embarrassment to the NDA government at the Centre on the eve of the Winter Session of the Parliament, a BJP MP on Wednesday said that price rise was a "major" factor behind his party's defeat in the recent Bihar Assembly elections. "Because of inflation, we lost Bihar polls. Price rise became a major poll issue," Harinarain Rajbhar, an MP from Ghosi said. He maintained that in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, people voted for the party and not for Prime Minister Narendra Modi while alleging the PM never took the party MPs into confidence before doing any work.
