Prez suspends Bridge & Roof CMD MK Singh

As per the directive of the President, chairman and managing director Bridge & Roof Co. (India) Ltd (B&R) Mahendra Kumar Singh has been suspended. 

A circular dated May 26, 2016, by company secretary R Kar states: “Pursuant to the order received from the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, the President in exercise of powers conferred by rule 28 (I) of Conduct, Discipline and Review Rules for officers of Bridge & Roof Company (India) Ltd has placed MK Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, B&R, under suspension with immediate effect pending enquiry.”

As per the order of the Ministry, “a complaint on March 5, 2016, was received by department of Heavy Industries from central vigilance commission, wherein the allegations made in the complaint include that B&R was awarded an overseas contract on December 1, 2015, from Essar Projects Ltd, Kuwait for $1.556 only for which the complainant had furnished a copy of the hiring agreement between Essar Projects and B&R on February 9,2016. However, the said agreement was terminated by Essar Projects through a letter on February 29, 2016, on account for failure of B&R to submit performance security/guarantee as mandated by hiring agreement.” Also, the order dated May 26 cites several other reasons of allegations against Singh.
