Prez arrives in Moscow; to attend Victory Day celebrations

President Pranab Mukherjee arrived here on Thursday on a five-day visit during which he will attend the the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Russia’s win in the World War II and hold talks with President Vladimir Putin to enhance bilateral strategic ties. Issues like civil nuclear cooperation, defence ties and partnership in higher education will top the agenda when Mukherjee will meet Putin for bilateral talks. Nine MoUs, including eight on cooperation in the higher education, will be signed between the two countries. A 75-member Indian Army contingent from the Grenadiers will take part in a military parade in Moscow during the Victory Day celebrations on Saturday.
